George Dorsey

1843–1919. barnwell, south carolina

George Dorsey was a central figure in the Mingo community of Williamsburg County. After emancipation, he and Grace Dorsey built a life together in Nesmith, where they purchased land and raised their family. He is remembered as an honest man and a trusted member of his community.
